Curling formations and positions.
Curling is played four a side on a sheet of ice 45.72 metres long and 4.75 metres wide, with a target of concentric rings at each end. A game is ten ends in major competitions and eight in many others, with each player delivering two stones per end. Only one team scores in an end, taking a point for each stone closer to the centre than the best of the opposition. World Curling rules apply, administered in Britain by British Curling.
