Cycling: how it is set up and scored.
Road cycling is an individual sport in which riders race on open roads, usually as members of a team working for a leader. A one-day race is settled in a single stage, while a stage race adds the times of several stages to decide the overall winner. The result is the finishing order at the line, with times taken for the general classification. UCI Regulations apply, administered in Britain by British Cycling.
