Skiing: how it is set up and scored.
Alpine skiing is an individual sport raced down a marked course of gates on a prepared snow slope. Slalom and giant slalom are decided over two runs on the same day, while super-G and downhill are a single run. The result is recorded as elapsed time, with a missed gate meaning disqualification. FIS Alpine rules apply, administered in Britain by GB Snowsport.
