Softball formations and positions.
Softball is played nine a side in fast pitch and ten a side in slow pitch, on a diamond with 18.29 metres between the bases and a pitch delivered underarm. A game is seven innings, each side batting until three outs. A run is scored when a batter rounds all three bases and returns to home plate. WBSC Official Rules of Softball apply, with BaseballSoftballUK administering the game in Britain.
