Water polo formations and positions.
Water polo is played seven a side, six field players and a goalkeeper, in a pool of 25 by 20 metres for senior matches. A match is four quarters of eight minutes of actual play, with a 30 second shot clock. A goal is scored when the ball passes fully between the posts and under the crossbar. World Aquatics Water Polo Rules apply, administered in England by Swim England.
